Let’s protect Jerusalem together

On the morning of October 7, 2023, at the moment when Jerusalem residents were in a state of shock from the first reports of mass killings, wounded, and kidnapped in the areas adjacent to Gaza, several armed Israel Defense Forces reservists decided to act immediately.

There was an urgent need to organize patrols, strengthen security in areas adjacent to East Jerusalem, and most importantly, restore a sense of safety to local residents. This is exactly what the first fighters of the Jerusalem Shield self-defense unit did.

Since then, the unit has grown significantly and has become a full-fledged operational force. Today, Jerusalem Shield serves as a rapid response standby unit operating under the jurisdiction of the Israeli Police, which provides the unit with weapons and ammunition.

However, all other equipment is acquired thanks to the support of Jews from around the world. We are talking about vital gear: medical equipment, helmets, body armor, optics, night vision devices, and much more.

Due to the ongoing military operations and the constantly expanding scope of tasks facing our unit, the need to update equipment remains constant. We are forced to regularly replace worn or damaged gear, as well as provide everything necessary for new fighters joining our ranks. That is why today we are reaching out to friends of our unit with a request to support our initiative. Your help gives us the ability to replenish necessary equipment in a timely manner and maintain a high level of readiness to carry out our mission of protecting the residents of Jerusalem.
