💛 Help Elderly Olim Gain Financial Confidence

For new immigrants, these tasks become twice as difficult — everything happens in Hebrew, within an unfamiliar financial and digital system.

📖 Why This Course Was Created

In recent years, more and more elderly immigrants have fallen victim to financial fraud and cyberattacks.
 After a series of such incidents, a class action lawsuit was filed against banks and financial institutions, which ended in a victory for the victims.
 The fines collected from the banks were allocated to create a national budget for educational programs aimed at improving citizens’ financial and digital literacy.

Based on this budget, a government tender was held, and the Yad Itzhak Foundation for Russian-speaking immigrants won the right to organize a financial literacy course for elderly olim.
Thus, the project is implemented under an official government grant, approved and funded by the Government of Israel.

The course includes 8 sessions in different cities across Israel - in hostels and community centers.
Participants learn to:

• understand banking services and use them safely;
 • plan their personal budgets and pension expenses;
 • navigate insurance, digital services, and online payments;
 • protect themselves from fraud and cyber threats.

The classes are taught by experienced specialists from leading training centers and financial institutions — professionals who can explain complex topics in simple, respectful language appropriate for older participants.

📊 According to the terms of the state grant:
• 80% of the budget is covered by the government;
• 20% must be co-financed by the association itself.

The total project cost is 150,000 ₪, of which 30,000 ₪ (20%) still need to be raised.
These funds will go toward lecturer fees, printed materials, and organizational support for the course.
